Trilochan Netralaya which was established in 2008 with a vision to eliminate avoidable blindness from Western Odisha is the largest community eye care provider of Odisha at present. It caters to the eye care needs of more than 10 million people in 14 districts of this region. So far we have transformed the lives of more than hundred thousand poor blind people of this region by sight restoring cataract surgery.
Western odisha is highly infamous for poverty, illiteracy and lack of awareness. People living in miserable conditions can’t even dream of getting basic health care. Though there are few eye care providers in this region they are not accessible to the majority of the community.
Having been equipped with all state of the art equipment and skilled human resources Trilochan Netralaya has been striving to make quality eye care accessible to all at an affordable price.
We also run a project named ‘groom a girl child’ in which we recruit 12th passed out girls from remote villages, train them in eye care along with soft skill, spirituality and personality development so that they become self-sufficient at the end of two years. The impact of this program is huge as it brings 360 degree transformation in those little girls’ lives.
We aspire to bring world class eye care for the community. A dedicated, dynamic and passionate team devoted to the cause is already on its mission. And I hope we all together can achieve that dream soon.
Eliminating avoidable blindness from the community with particular focus to the poor and marginalized.
