Short Term Micro Surgical Training
To enhance the surgical skill of budding ophthalmologists so as to enable them to join hands in the global mission of eliminating needless blindness, We started a short term training program in small incision cataract surgery (SICS) & Phaco emulsification for both national & international candidates. Till now 21 Ophthalmologists have been trained under this initiative.
Long Term Micro Surgical Training
To upgrade the clinical knowledge & surgical skills of residents, we offer long term fellowship in anterior segment & cataract. We have 4 slots per year in our Sambalpur unit. In this 2yrs training program candidates get to learn comprehensive eye care, anterior segment procedures, Medical retina etc. They get good surgical exposure to both SICS and Phaco during the fellowship and the uniqueness of this course is in training the fellows to do a good number of phacoemulsification by clear cornea and direct chop method.
Paramedical Training
Trilochan Institute of Community Ophthalmology, TRICO:
The TRICO intends to recruit village level school and college dropout students and train them in specific task such as theatre nurse, ward nurse, OP nurse so that the unmet need is solved and employment to the bottom of the pyramid is created thereby empowering women. The course and curriculum is designed by Trilochan Netralaya keeping the needs of current eye care requirements of the society.
CME & Conference
With the rapid improvement of technology in eye health care in the 21st century, it is highly essential for all of us to be well aware about the changing protocols in the treatment of diseases. Time also demands our updated skills and knowledge to treat our patients efficiently. The Continuing Medical Education (CME) brings out a platform where professionals from different fraternity, general practitioners and rural medical co-workers can join hands to discuss and evolve roadmap to bridge up the gap between patient and traditional medical practices along with available changing protocols. Trilochan Netralaya organized 6 CME programs in 2017-18 financial year in association with The Vision Mission, Singapore.
